The World: Anyone heard of a Spirit/Dream Entity known as the Boneshaker?

duskenpath:

I apparently went hardcore tripping last night and remembered it all for once. But I was warned explicitly about that spirit multiple times.

If it helps/you can probably tell by the name, it’s an Underworld type of creature.

It…

HEY I know that bastard. One of ‘em tried to latch on to me and I bound that jerk with salt and cold Iron. It was quite effective actually.

My opinion on Curses!

Sorry, I had to stop listening to this after about 48 seconds.

Cursing doesn’t have “strings” attached or “criteria” that needs to be met. People curse people for insults, yup. People curse people for looks, yup. People curse people for “serious reasons” and ‘real reasons” which includes what I just listed above here.

If you have to say: “I accept cursing, but…” You’re doing something wrong - in my opinion.

It’s like with any other kind of spells, do you limit what a person can do a spell for? Like “I accept wishing spells, but…” or “I accept job spells, but…”

Ethics and morality are for the person who is casting to decide - which you might have said later on in your video.

But from the 48 seconds that I watched, I needed to stop you right there. People jump on bandwagons, who cares.

Maybe this would be received better, eirecrescent, if you weren’t so high-and-mighty about it all.

Actually, no, you’re still curse-shaming. Please just don’t.

LOL- To the first person who watched only 48 seconds, how the hell can you make an informed judgement on anything I said if you didn’t even watch the full thing.

As you are entitled to your opinion, I am entitled to mine (which you would have heard me say at the very end of the video.)

All I asked for people to do was think for themselves and not to be so caught up in the curse trend- just because others are doing it. To actually THINK about their actions for once instead of reacting without thought.

—-

To the second person- I also had to laugh because I wasn’t acting high and mighty nor was I curse shaming- again, I was asking for people consider how they would feel at the end of the day if they performed a curse for the wrong reasons.

I am sorry that I wanted people to act more like an adult- an individual, to not be a mindless follower, and think about their actions. My bad.

Yes, lol. It is funny that your video was literally that ridiculous that I could only tolerate 48 seconds of it. See here’s the problem with demanding “people think about their actions” the problem is that you are assuming they Haven’t thought about it. What the real issue is that they haven’t thought about it YOUR WAY or HAVE YOUR ETHICS WHICH APPARENTLY REQUIRES A TIME LIMIT BEFORE CASTING ANY SPELL EVER. (Emphasis, not shouting due to being on phone). Which is entire why I couldn’t put up with your video any longer. You do not get to dictate how long someone has to wait before doing a spell NOR the “proper thought process” they have. You act as if people can’t be responsible for their immediate decisions. What world do you live in then If that’s the case?

Maybe it’s about making sure you don’t regret doing the curse later? Idk. *scuttles away*

And that’s their business if they do or don’t. People are responsible for their actions whether they feel guilty or not. Acting as if someone can’t be responsible for an immediate decision is making everyone bound to this person’s checks and perspective and reality. That’s a hell of a lot of nopes.

Alright, here’s my problem with this video, and I did watch it all. You are making several assumptions that don’t really hold any salt with me.

1. You claim that you are curse positive, and yet you go on to say, repeatedly, that someone should do something else instead of cursing someone. That isn’t being curse positive, that is acting like you are while still being judgmental of those individuals that do use curses regularly.

2. You say in your video that when you curse someone it will come back to you. I’m sorry, but that isn’t really true. In Wicca, sure, could be possible. I’m a Shamanistic-Pagan, there is no such thing as a repercussion in my belief system. I know several Pagans who would laugh in your face if you tried to impose your own beliefs on them, because you are, as far as what they believe, wrong. If YOU think that curses come back to you, great. If, however, you try to push that belief on others….that is not ok.

3. I don’t know if you know this or not, I would hope you do, but curses, and any spell really, are fueled from the emotions and desires of the caster. That being said, if someone were to infuriate me to the point that I felt the need to curse them, then I would use that rage and anger to strengthen my curse. Telling me to ‘calm down and take a shower’ or something to cool off is entirely not the point. A curse is a curse because it is bringing negative consequences on another individual who has rallied up enough anger in someone to illicite the need to channel that anger into a destructive force.

4. I have a question, what is the wrong reason for a curse? Is that something that you are going to impose on everyone that would curse someone? I got from your video that you have this moral ethic that you believe you can simply impose on anyone else because you don’t like their reasons.

5. Now let’s talk about your little bit about rape and ‘appropriate’ reasons for cursing someone. I might get a little upset here because basically what you are saying is that whatever slight or anger or pain elicited someone cursing someone for a reason you don’t agree with is an invalid concern or feeling. How is that alright? How can you judge what is and isn’t a legitimate reason for a curse. I just don’t understand that.

6. Finally I want to address something you said that makes absolutely no sense at all. You said, “You don’t know the consequences of your actions until the action is completed.” You do know that this applies to every single thing you do correct? Are you telling me that I should never walk outside because I don’t know what the consequences of that action are going to be? That I should never speak with my Spirit Guides because I have no idea what that might illicite? Come on? Really? Really?

Properties: Arrowroot is indigenous to the West Indian Islands and possibly Central America. The name, Arrowroot, is a corruption of the Aru-root of the Aruac Indians of South America. It is a leafy perennial with a creeping rhizome root. The root features upward-curving, fleshy, cylindrical tubers covered in large, thin scales that produce rings of scars. The leaves are ovate and glabrous measuring from two to ten inches long. Long sheaths often envelope the stem. The flowering stem may reach a height of six feet. It is topped by pairs of cream-colored flowers at the ends of slender branches that terminate in long peduncles.

Parts Used: starch of rhizome
Magical Properties:  Arrowroot will increase good luck and bring new opportunities to your attention. The mashed root is said to be an antidote for arrow-poison, as well as poisonous insect stings (scorpions and spiders), and gangrene.

Arbutus (Arbutus unede)

Gender: Masculine
Planet: Mars
Element: Fire
Deities: Cardea
Properties: The arbutus evergreen spreads from the Mediterranean and Iberian Peninsula to Asia Minor and Killarney, Ireland. It is a member of heather family and prefers non-alkaline sandy loams. When first getting started, the tree requires some protection during winters, but older trees are quite hardy. Though some older trees are sometimes killed by harsh cold, most will invariably send up new shoots in the spring. Growing quickly in sheltered places, it is not a plant which likes shade however.
Though classified as a tree, the arbutus remains shrubby unless it is grown in its ideal conditions. Arbutus will grow up to sixteen feet, though occasionally twice that, but it is slow growing. It has reddish bark, especially on the branches, which cracks as the tree grows older. The small, glossy leaves are elliptical and acuminate, narrowing at base. The white, pitcher-shaped flowers are often suffused with pink or green. They grow in terminal racemes of only a few flowers each in autumn or near the beginning of winter along side the previous year’s fruit, which have finally ripened at this time. The fruits resemble small strawberries. They are round berries containing a great number of seeds in fleshy pulp. The outside of the fruit is pimply and turns from green to yellow and orange and then to red when fully ripe.
Parts Used: Flower, Fruit, Seed
Magical Properties: The Romans used arbutus, under the guardianship of Cardea, to chase away evil and protect children. In Greece, it was also used for exorcisms, another facet of Cardea’s responsibilities. Protects little children.

Apricot (Prunus armeniaca)

Gender: Feminine
Planet: Venus
Element: Water
Deities: Venus
Properties:  For a long time, it was thought the Apricot originated in Armenia, hence its name Armeniaca, but it is now generally accepted that its origins lie in China, particularly the Himalayan region. It was introduced into England from Italy during Henry VIII reign. The tree, which is most closely related to peaches and plums, prefers temperate climates but dislikes frost. Sometimes espaliered against walls in northern climates to protect it from the elements, it will rarely fruit in such areas otherwise. It should be planted on the northern side of a slope or building to escape the sun’s warmth in early spring, but it needs sun and well-drained soil for good fruit production. The apricot rarely stands more than twenty to twenty-six feet. It has a stout trunk with reddish-brown bark. The simple, leathery, alternating leaves are deciduous, ovate or rounded, sharply pointed at tip and double toothed. The flowers appear before the leaves, solitary or in pairs. They have white or pinkish obovate petals. The fruit is a velvety globose, oblong drupe, slightly flattened and divided by a central groove. It is orange-yellow, often tinged with red and ripens from the end of July to mid-August.
Parts Used: Fruit, Seed
Magical Properties: Love. Use juice in love spells or potions. Eat fruit to obtain a sweet disposition. Leaves and flowers can be added to love sachets and the pits carried to attract love. The pit may also be carried to attract love.

Apple (Pyrus spp.) aka Silver bough, silver branch, tree of love
Gender: Feminine
Planet: Venus
Element: Water
Deities: Pomona, Venus, Dionysus, Olwen, Apollo, Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, Diana, Zeus, Iduna
Properties: The apple is native to Europe and western Asia. It prefers deep, moist, fertile, well-drained soil, and full sun to fruit. Two to three compatible varieties must be planted together to produce fruit however. It may grow up to fifty feet, but most are dwarf trees of no more than six feet, and semi-dwarfs of fifteen feet for orchards. The leathery, elliptical, serrate leaves are bright green and smooth above, paler and downy beneath. The flowers are up to two inches across and arrive in early spring along with the leaves. They are generally white flushed with pink, in three to six corymbs at the tips of young leaves. Fruit appears in late summer into fall. Wild varieties may grow from eight to fifty feet, but most are under twenty. The leaves are generally oval, green, and darker above than below. Some are reddish throughout the growing season. The flowers vary from pure white to pink or red to purplish-red one-half to two and one-fourth inches across with single or double rows of petals. It is a very fragrant blossom, and produces tiny red or yellow apples.
Parts Used: Fruit, Seed, Bark, Root, Flower.
Magical Properties: Love, Healing, Garden Magick, Immortality. Use apple branches to make wands ideally suited for emotional and love magick. The apple branch will gain one admittance to the faery underworld. For healing, cut an apple into three pieces, rub on the afflicted part of the body, and bury outside. Do this during the waning moon to banish illness. Apples can be used for poppets or the apple wood carved into a poppet. Powder dried seeds and bark to burn as incense. (Caution: more than a few apple seeds can be poisonous). Apples are associated with the dead and Samhain, which is often called the Feast of Apples.

Anise Seed (Pimpinella anisum) aka aniseed, anneys

Gender: Masculine
Planet: Jupiter
Element: Air
Deities: Apollo, Mercury
Properties: Anise is a member of carrot family and an annual, preferring warm, sunny, well-drained, moderately rich, sandy soil. It is more often found cultivated in gardens, though it may sometimes be found wild. The root is spindle-shaped, thin and woody. Cultivated, anise may grow up to one or two feet, but is much smaller when found in the wild. The stem is round, grooved, and branched. The lowest leaves are round-cordate with long-petiole, the middle leaves are pinnate, and the top are incised into narrow, feathery lobes. Small white or yellow flowers grow in compound umbels from July to August, producing downy, brown ovate 1/8 inch seed from August to September. The seeds are aromatic and sweet when chewed.
Parts Used: Seeds
Magical Properties: Protection. Purification. Youth. Deals with inner, personal issues related to lack of fulfillment. Helps one to become more open to happiness and enjoy company of others. Put in dream pillows to protect from nightmares. Brings protection when traveling in the astral. Include anise in handfasting and wedding cakes.
Fill a small pillowcase with the seeds to ensure a night without nightmares. The smell of the seeds stimulates the mind and body. They may be added to incense for protection, meditation, and clairvoyance. Anise will assist in summoning spirits for help in spells, and the seeds are said to avert the evil eye.
The fresh leaves in room will drive off evil, and may be placed around your magic circle to keep evil spirits out. A sprig on the bedpost is said to restore lost youth.
As an edible herb, anise may be ingested in potions and other foods. It is not only supposed to be an aphrodisiac, it is said to allow you to find love, contentment, and happiness. An old cure for dropsy involved an old rooster and polypody (fern). The sufferer was supposed to fill the rooster with anise and polypody, stew the bird, and drink the broth. The seed was also given to children to eat for hiccoughing and epilepsy.

Angelica (Angelica archangelica) aka archangel, masterwort
Caution: Avoid during pregnancy. Large doses may affect the blood pressure {raising it}, heart action, and respiration. Some people may experience skin irritation and photosensitivity. Positive identification is essential, as it resembles poisonous herbs of the hemlock family.)

Gender: Masculine
Planet: Sun
Element: Fire
Deities: Venus, Archangel Michael
Properties: Angelica is a member of the carrot family. The thirty or so varieties of angelica may be biennial or perennial and prefer moist areas and riverbanks. It grows readily from seed, and the parent plant may be perpetuated for years if the stalk is cut before it can go to seed.
Though Angelica Archangelica may be found in Scotland, it is much more likely to be found farther north growing wild in Iceland or Lapland. It is the variety used most in medicinal applications. Archangelica has a round stem, grooved, hollow, and branched near the top with a blue tinge. It may grow from three to seven feet in height. The root is long and thick, spindle-shaped, and brown-red with a spicy, agreeable odor, and sharp, sweet but bitter taste. It has many smaller rootlets descending from it. Some specimens have been weighed at three pounds. The leaves emerge from dilated sheaths surrounding the stem. The lower ones are large and bi- or tri-pinnate, while the upper ones are smaller and pinnate. Greenish white flowers grow in large terminal, compound umbels with a honey-like odor from June to August. Each produces two yellow winged seeds, which are oblong and elliptic. The seeds are also sweetly scented.
Angelica sylvestris resembles European Water Hemlock so caution should be taken when attempting proper identification. The stem is purplish but gray with hairs, and the leaves are more sharply toothed than other angelicas. The flowers are pure white or purple tinged and smaller.
Angelica atropupurea, or Purple Angelica, grows in Canada and NE and N central US. It prefers rich, moist soil and partial shade. Purple Angelica can most often be found in wet bottom lands and swamps. It is a perennial with a thick, hollow dark purple stem smooth from four to nine feet high. The leaves grow from swollen basal sheaths. They are ternately compound with further divisions of 3-5 among the upper leaves. This angelica has large clusters of many white to greenish-white flowers on purplish stems from May to October.
Parts Used:  root, leaves and stems, seed
Magical Properties: Exorcism, Protection, Healing, Visions. Use in all protection and exorcism incenses. Angelica protects in two ways: it creates a barrier against negative energy and fills you with good, radiant energy. Removes curses, hexes, or spells that have been cast against you. Enhances the aura. Gives a joyful outlook on life.
Grown, angelica protects the home from evil spells. It may be sprinkled at the four corners of a house or the perimeter of a home to ward off evil and harmful spells, and it may be scattered outside the home to keep evil spirits out. Carried it wards off infection, pestilence, venomous poison, and mad dogs. According to some Native American traditions, it may also be carried in the pocket for luck in gambling.
Angelica root (other parts have a less enduring scent) maybe used as incense for protection, exorcisms, healings, and visions. Add it to healing mixes, especially for the nerves. Angelica enhances the aura, maintains a joyful outlook on life, and can be used in self-blessings and purifications. Chew it to prolong your life and keep evil spells and spirits away. If you wish a loved one to return to you, burn the whole plant and toss to the ashes to the four winds while chanting:
North wind, please to obey,
West wind, show him/her the way,
South wind, and skies above,
East wind, bring my love
To turn a spell back on its caster, rise on a Saturday before dawn and take some angelica root in each hand. Hold this tightly in your fist and say:
(Deity of choice), punish him/her who has done this evil and take him from us by the great justice, that the sorcerer/sorceress may be anathema and we may be safe.
Throw the root outside your door in the direction of your enemy or South if you do not know who it is. It may also be included in your bath to remove curses and hexes.
